He holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Charles has built his career across energy, carbon capture, industrial process engineering and infrastructure‐adjacent systems, combining strong technical depth with programme leadership and governance awareness.

As Head of Engineering at Carbon8, Charles led multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for FOAK plant design, scale‐up and deployment, ISO 9001‐aligned engineering management systems, patent‐driven innovation and engagement with major funders, regulators and industrial partners. His role required balancing technical risk, safety, cost and delivery timelines while presenting credible engineering strategies to investors and public‐sector stakeholders.

Earlier in his career, Charles worked in oil & gas decommissioning and heavy industrial engineering, including roles with Claxton, where he gained deep exposure to safety‐critical operations, complex logistics and regulatory compliance.

Within Sisura Innovation Ltd, Charles provides senior technical assurance, FOAK delivery oversight and engineering governance, supporting progression from prototype through feasibility, demonstration and scalable deployment.
